IMO that stuff is pretty immersion-breaking and it sounds as if it'd be an easy option to implement.

The option to hide the odds of choices would be nice also. When my character is proficient in multiple kinds of persuasion, the info just makes me choose the option that is marginally more effective rather than what seems fitting or natural.

Thats odd ...
I dont see odds when im picking my dialogues, i only see wich is tied to my stats and wich i pick to be proficient with ... but since i dont see dificiulty of that roll, i never know wich would be more effective. O_o
On the other hand, if i pick to be profficient with Deception, but not with Persuation, or Intimidation ... i would dare to say that the most fitting and natural reaction for my character will be to lie. laugh

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown

I always assume that the difficulty class of every option is the same. I know it’s not always true, but without any info on the game’s part, picking the option with your PC’s highest modifier seems safe.

I understand the OP’s desire to focus on the content of the response rather than the value of associated modifiers. However, removing the info panels also hides whether PCs have situational advantage for a dialogue option.

It also seems logical (at least to me) ...

Diplomatic Paladin with lots of experience in reasoning, will allways tend to use Persuation ...
Scarry Barbarian with lots of experience in making people fear him, will tend to use Intimidation ...
Cheating Warlock with uggly habbit to lie whenever he moves his lips, will tend to use Deception ...

And that is where their proficiencies are. laugh

Same goes with other skills ofcourse ...
Even tho i still believe that some skills should get in certain cases bonus from alternative Ability score ... like Nature + Wisdom, rather than Intelligence, if you are Druid ...

Still if you get option to either roll something your character is profficient with (aka. is experienced in that field) it makes much more sense to me to pick that option ...
Especialy if the only alternative is to pick something he is not profficient with (aka dont have experience) and he dont have ability score high enough to support such attempt (aka having natural talent in that field). O_o
