Simply because this service is shit? 10$ (FOR NOW...) a month cheap? Anything ENTERTAINMENT you have to pay every month ISN'T cheap. Its a scam in the long run.
Lets add everything up shall we? Game service, MUSIC service, MOVIE services, Stadia, etc..etc...It adds up to pretty nice gaming rig after a while.
OK, I will bite.
I payed for BG3 several years ago and I have not payed a penny since.
So yes, the stuff you get for $10 a month is not a great deal but generally the game works fine on Stadia and I can use my seven year old Linux box to play it.
