Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - General Would you like to have Aasimar in BG3?

While I am not against the inclusion of Aasimar, I don't think it's a must. Larian has made it clear they are following the Player's Handbook, and the Aasimar are not included therein. If Larian is going to add more content for which they did not initially plan, I don't think adding more playable races is the best use of their time and efforts. I would rather the preexisting races be given more depth. Having said that, Gith are not included in the player's handbook, so Larian may surprise us.

If i had to choose between another race(s) ... and proper reactions for my Drow or Tiefling, rather than "normally i dont trust your kind but..."

I would gladly sacrifice every missing race, dragonborn, half-orcs and gnomes included ...

But since single sentence comentary and maaaaaaybe some tuning for social rolls is the best we get as it seems ...

Then i would love to have as many races as possible ... and Aasimar seems like logical first step in several ways ...
For one if you have devil people ... it is certainly nice to provide angel people aswell ...
And for two they dont need whole new model, just a few asets that would fit on humans.

Thats exactly the problem with such races ...
Tortles, tabaxi, lizardfolk, arakokra ... they all would require own models, most likely even skeleton and facial animations ...

On top of that especialy tortles ... they are not supppse to be able to wear armor ...

Now when i think about it ...
As far as i know Tortolans are the only race that isnt "suppose" to wear armor ... and i presume this should by rules apply mainly for chest armor ... but how about helmets, gloves, boots?

And then ... what about other bestial races?
Since i cant quite imagine Arakocra, Kenku or LIzardfolks wear the same kind of boots, gloves or helmets as humaoinds do ...

So the more i think about it, the more probable it seems to me that if we will get any other race, it would be just some modified humans ... like Aasimar, Genasi, Yuan-ti or Warforged. O_o

In fairness, it's not like the tieflings should be able to wear the same kind of helmets as humans. I always find myself wondering how they managed to get on those circlets.

Fullmetal helmet that is penetrated by your own horns is worse in my opinion.

Doesn't seem like a big deal to me. The guy's just looking for an audience. It's not like he's starting ten threads a day.

He has 18 posts on this forum, and literally every single one of them is him starting a thread with a link to his personal Youtube channel without saying a single word or posting any other reply in the thread.

I'm not particularly invested in turning this into a witch hunt, because I don't really care that much, but there's a limit to how shameless you should be with your self-promotion.

And that's even assuming this place doesn't have any explicit rule against doing this, which most forums usually DO.
I know several communities where even doing it once would be a bannable offense, let alone making it your signature trait on a regular basis.

I agree with Tuco. Just popping in, promoting your new video and not engage in any form in the discussion is unacceptable behavior.
