I'm curious.
He's been accused of shilling and of unacceptable behavior. Why is self-promotion seen as such a bad thing? Is he not trying to better himself? Is what he's doing actually harming folks somehow?
Big corporations pepper the world with advertisements all the time. Those ads are often annoying, but they're generally accepted. It's how business gets done. It's how ideas and efforts travel. I suppose you could argue that a corporation pays for the privilege, but unless you're on the receiving end of that money, I'm not sure how it's your concern.
And yes, it would be nice if he participated in the conversation, but maybe everything he had to say was in his video.
I don't know. I guess it just doesn't bother me. In fact, there's a part of me that would encourage folks to go out into the world and proactively promote themselves.
