Given just how many times I've seen this aspect of hexblade fudged for story reasons in games, I'd be fine with it. It's better then giving Wyll extra proficiencies he shouldn't have so he fits his own backstory.

I mean, they could even change Mizoras background, so that she ist from the Shadowfell. I don't think, that it is necessary for her to be a fiend. Except If she is somehow tied to Raphael maybe?
