I really hope Wizards isn't relying on larian to fill in the gaps in their lore, what a frightening idea. The events of this game will most likely end up like the events of most of our other d&d video games, loosely canonical but never actually referenced by sourcebooks or other direct WotC publications, but possibly mentioned or adapted by the novels.
