AAAAnd? Has it improved the game or your gameplay or are you guys who either haven't got a job, perhaps life other than pornhub or otherwise your bosses should be looking into exactly what they pay you for stopped annoying Larian so others can have them finish the damn game so I can try for worlds first solo as SC and have a holiday off work to do so? And don't you dataminers who ended all the graphics card surplus start either, bloody idiots 22p a day and takes you months to get your money back on a card you made worth 1k as you're bloody idiots to yourself and others at the wrong time in history before the Death Carrot Virus ends; don't know what I mean research brain aches. ... Huh? There's a big difference between datamining and cryptomining, buddy. You can datamine with a 20 year old potato with integrated graphics. Cryptomining is utilizing processing power (mainly GPUs but CPUs can be used too) to be rented out in trade of different currencies. Either way, this topic nor this mannerism is suited here so I ask you to lay off. People talking about datamining is hardly influential on development time, and datamining is just as much a hobby and interest as anything else. You have no say or opinion worth sharing on what others do with their time, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone or have criminal implications. If that's the case, you use the report button (flag in the top right of a message).

Whoever said there is nothing interesting to datamine in Patch 6 ... didnt search long enough. O_o (Audio only tho ... but hells, juicy one.  ) WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, WAIT! DO WE GET DOS2 NARRATOR AS A COMPANION? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! YES! He is my favorite although he is not even out yet. I just want to say that this is actualy just gif from one mod from Nexus ... so its not even confrimmed datamined stuff ... but since we all know that most mods are working with unused asets, that is left there from larian themselves ... Well, concider yourself warned. And now prepare to be amazed! You all really shouldnât be so worried about the character alignments. If you listen to Karlachâs audio files you will hear lots of lines where she expresses empathy. While itâs of course too early to say definitively, she sounds very much like a good aligned character.
My guess is that it will be:
Minsc - good
Karlach - good
Helia - good
Wyll - neutral
Gale - neutral
Astarion - evil
Shadowheart - evil
Laeâzel - evil
This seems like a very decent spread, especially seeing as BG2 had a very poor selection of evil companions.
That being said, the more the merrier, so hopefully Larian is going to add a few. Edwin was one of the best companions in the game and he was Evil. Also someone mentioned wings as a problem but they aren't. They were in DOS2, and you can play the whole game with wings on your back with a mod. Not to mention Viconia and Korgan? At this point its futile the even compare BG3's lacking companion line up to BG2. Not mentioning the dozens of amazing well written MODDED in companions (Kelsey, Adrian, Fade, Yvette, Solaufein, Isra, Arath, Sirene, Angelo, Xulaye....) that have romances, interact with the game story, have banters between you other NPCs and the game world etc... something that will be impossible to do in BG3, the way dialogue works. How many new companions did modders make in DOS2? lol. For me this is the most depressing aspect of the game. Low npc count, and NO WAY to add anything afterwards due to these mostly annoying cinematic dialogues. We are stock with a bunch of non interesting wining jerks. At this point Id take JAN over any of these.

Okay I got my first good laugh in weeks over the dude who thinks cryptomining is the same as datamining. But that is besides the point. Incredibly hyped to see more flourish in our spells (speak with dead, now firebolt, I want to see how balls to the wall Larian are going to go with spellcasting. They might even convince me to do a full wizard playthrough and I've never played a wizard in my life.) All that aside I have to ask because I found a datamined spoiler months upon months ago (right at the beginning of EA) and I can't for the life of me find it again. I decided to post out of curiosity here before ruling I've gone insane. it was an image/screen capture of a wip cutscene which looks like Gale is either fully enthralled with the power of the netherese taint or some other dark magic. I've tried finding it to discuss the possibility of Gale having a full on evil path but to no avail.

And far as Sharrians in the party, that is likely not an accident, but rather Shar's influence or one of her more powerful servants influence on events. The dataminer also said this:Pretty hefty quest spoiler re: Nightsong - It seems to be a person. A girl. And she may be a follower/companion with unique skills: |While in dim light or darkness, Nightsong can teleport as a bonus action up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space she can see that is also in dim light or darkness. She then has advantage on the first melee attack she makes before the end of the turn.|"
|Each creature must make a DC 14 Con ST, taking 3d8 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. If a humanoid is killed by this damage, an undead Shadow rises from its corpse and fights alongside Nightsong. Nightfall also extinguishes all lightsources|
And dialogue: "I am Nightsong, Shar's penitent. Cursed to bear the loss of all those who worship her." "I will always be Nightsong, but you can be something more. You're remembering." - Possibly related to Shadowheart.
Quest has multiple endings - you can give her to at least two or three different people, kill her, ignore her or free her of her curse.So it seems to me the Nightsong is what Shadowheart would become as a "beautiful weapon" t. the Absolute. I wonder how hard it would be to turn some of the chapter 1 followers into companions. We could use more good or potentially good companions in BG3. This "Nightsong" almost sounds like a mutated Shadar Kai from the description. That's a racial option I would love to have as a PC race.. with +2 Dex, +1 Con, superior darkvision, and the teleport.

My understanding is this she's very likely an avatar of Shar. One of her iconic lines is "Shar is the Nightsinger. And I am her Nightsong." A few other lines also point out that Shar might come back and control over her again if we don't play our cards right.

I heard from Chubblot that they removed a lot of unused content, which makes datamining new content very hard.

Yeah he said that in last patch ... But then i have found some juicy tidbits on Reddit ... maybe Larian get even more thorough in cleaning.
