Maybe some (important) Zhents are also infected with tadpoles and are looking for a cure by gathering more information and eventually they will meet us. The Zhent Agent at the Goblin Camp complains that she can no longer buy slaves from the Gobbos. This could result in the Zhentarim viewing the Cult of the Absolutes, like the Dragon Cult, as competition to be crushed as they learn more about the cult's plans for world domination. Et voila a plot friendly outcome.
