This thread is for discussing the Panel From Hell 6 as it is being streamed. It is meant to become obsolete (and hopefully defunct) once the livestream is over.

If you want to discuss a specific topic of Patch 8 after that, please create a dedicated thread for this, most likely in the "Suggestions & Feedback" forum. We all know that Larian is not very keen on communicating with us, and has eventually decided to not tell us how they gather and process feedback. Still, they have at least one person collecting feedback from these forums, and it's probably an easier task is that feedback is organised properly.

So, to start with, it seems that David Walgrave can sing. And, oh, surprise, Bard is announced. Well, not officially yet, but it's just as clear.

Gnomes are 100% in this patch because Sven accidentally leaked them previously, lol.

Feature : Gnome is added.


Feature : Bards can choose an instrument at character creation. Will apparently allow to do Performances


Feature : when casting Vicious Mockery, the character will say a pre-recorded insult (from a list of 90-100 insults).

Yeah. The game still has no sound mechanics, Stealth is still 100% based on vision cones, we can have a lot of immersive fun with the drunk/sleeping goblins in the Goblin Camp, and the Silence spell. There's still no satisfying flight mechanics. We'll probably not have Spider Climb. But I'm happy to know that this one spell that they implemented is overdone.

I'm not watching, since I have an appointment in a few minutes, but I'm happy about gnomes and bards, not so happy about reactions. THis basically means, that they homebrew a lot of the bards features, right?

Feature : Expertise is now a thing. At least for Bard, but presumably Rogues will get it too.

The one of the devs said rogues get it to

They confirmed rogues also get expertise

So...gnomes get less bobbylike heads and pointy ears. That's what seperate them from halflings?

I'm not sure it's the most efficient design, time will tell, but at least it's good to hear that they're still working on this.

They finally implemented Detect Thoughts casting from the conversation options.

Is Gale's portrait doffrent or is just me?

Improvement/change : new UI for the Spellbook.
It looks as if they don't repeat the low-level spell icons all upper levels (due to upcasting).

There's a reason to carry shovels around, hidden chests.
