Why not just make up more opporunities to get the inspiration rather then take them out completly?
Give me 20 situations when person of that background should be inspired ...
Maybe someone from larian will notice and you get it back next patch. :P
Talking about your past. Living alone (or with family) in nature or maybe brewing potions with herbs you gathered yourself. Stuff like that. Should be plenty of times when it could show up.
Inspiration in the tabletop can also be rewarded by the dm (if he/she uses it) when people act according to their bonds/ideals/etc. Essentially if the player roleplays his character well.
Something doesent have to be specificly tied to your background but talking about your youth or aquitances could (or should) give inspiration. They can write points where inspiration could show up. I have faith in them
