Patch 8 is drawing near, and it’s going to be roughly 40GB (so make sure you have space free!), ]

the patch is 86G which will take at least 104G of free space to unpack
On Steam, the patch was listed as 39.3GB, but that magically changed during the update process. The eventual download was 83.5GB, which is not so different from GOG.
