At start of the Shattered Sanctum when given the choice to use mind worm ability and a roll of ZERO, I failed. I rolled a natural one but had my buffs on roll ..so MAYBE a natural one is epic fail regardless?
Does something actually different happen when you fail the 'intended-to-be-unfailable illithid rolls now, or are they still an incredibly stupid design?
Aww come on, give them a break... This latest patch is just sooooo full of awesomesauce (:
Granted, has lots of NEW BUGS, and that IS why we are playing this EA version. We are here to help and/or exploit the #%$ out of the bugs... FFS years ago I had TONS of FUN using a kitty cat to defeat ALL THE BOSSES :
Yeah, and I don't think they should. I sometimes put them in my own homebrew campaigns, but it is not even an option 5e rule, it is literally homebrew. And I don't think I like nat1s and nat 20s applying to skill checks in a video game, it just feels crappy. At least make it an option later down the road.
Why? It kinda makes sense, when you think about it.
So no matter how skilled you are, you should alway shave a 1/20 chance of failing? There is a reason this is not RAW, and why so many tables hate it. Take something YOU are very highly skilled at, and tell me you will fail at in 1/20 times.
