Yet another one... about Song of rest, a bard level 2 feature.

In DnD : very characters using at least 1 hit dice regain an additionnal 1D6 HP during a short rest.
In BG3 : you can use your feature outside combat to recover the same amount of HP you recover when you short rest (hit dices average + con modifier).
What I had thought for BG3 : during a short rest, every characters regain a few more HP (I guess 3 or 4, average of 1D6 = 3,5)

They gave the song of rest a good boost considering that we're recovering way more HP than we should. On top of that, we can use it when we want.
It's like having an additionnal short rest but that only makes your recover HP.

Feedback

I like that the feature has been boosted a bit, recovering 4 more HP during short rests OR recovering 4 HP on every characters when you want wouldn't be very interresting imo.
But I don't like that it's available outside short rests.

I don't see a lot of value to a new feature that will gives me back a few HP. I never use the spell "Prayer of Healing" because a short rest is often more interresting, especially when you play some classes (warlock, fighter,...) and I don't feel the need of such an additionnal healing feature.

On top of that, the current system will not allow the feature to be improved when our bard's dices will become D8, D10 or D12.

Suggestion

I think it would be better if this feature was a passive additionnal HP regain when you short rest, as it is in DnD. But it should probably always gives you back the maximum HP (Meaning +6HP for D6, +8HP for D8, +10HP for D10 and +12HP for D12).

It would mean that short rests would gives all characters more HP with a bard as intended in DnD but with a boost, which seems decent to me.
If the limitation on short rest was removed, I think we could have a good system in which every classes could benefit the bard's feature.
