The stupidity of having spells like Bless mark an area where you have to sort of pinpoint the ones you want affected.... why?? There are already spells like scorching ray where you select the individuals you want affected! Make it like that!

Oh, yeah, +1.

This has been reported since Day 1. Scorching Ray and Magic Missile prove that there's already the UI for targeting properly (as Bless is meant to work).

It feels as if Larian gave Bless as little love as possible, made it less convenient to use by making targeting difficult, nerfed it by making Concentration harder to maintain than in 5E, and then claimed that Bless is boring ... Well, they sure didn't try to do it justice.

In general, I agree. Though I wonder if there would be an issue if you have, say, three charges of bless you can use, but only two available characters to receive them. Or if you are running solo. Do you have to then target yourself three times?

Admittedly I was never in a situation where I particularly struggled to target the spell in a way where I would be able to select the three characters I wanted, but still, there's no particular reason to make this so unnecessarily convoluted when the alternative exists.

Party control in Baldur's Gate 3 is a complete mess that begs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE TOILET CHAIN

It is so annoying. Same with other multi character spells like Sleep - trying to catch specific enemies with AoE is annoying as hell.

I've had this problem a lot, because I can neither chose not to select a caracter standing in a clump nor control whether caracters clump up. I'll send Lae'zel forward, Gale will stand in front of her with Wyll's imp in between and combat starts. How do I Bless Gale and Lae'zel but not the imp?

(I know about turn based mode, or otherwise moving PCs individually. Number 1, fights frequently trigger after a dialogue in which case a careful approach isn't possible. Number 2, I'm not looking to do anything fancy, just hold a diamond formation walking down a path. Why this makes casters so eager to join melee combat is beyond me.)

Larian, please make accessibility a priority for upcoming patches.

To be fair, sleep automatically targets creatures starting with the one with fewer hit points and the next in ascending order. You cannot choose which creatures to influence, just the area of effect.

+1 for bless, bane and all the other spells that function like those ones.

Yeah I seriously don't get why they did this in the first place when they HAVE implemented a far better system for other spells??

Ah! That’s good to know. I assumed that the only limit is total HP that we can put to sleep. Explains why I could never make it do what I want it to do, while I can manage bless/bane with a healthy amount of wiggling.
