I'm amazed, that the thread has gone so long. I honestly did never care that much about Gales look, but I think, the more gruffy and tired look fits his situation very well.
On another note: I think, Astarion looks different? They made his skin look a bit less obviously vampiric imo. Was that introduced with patch 7? I didn't play with that patch, since I don't plan on playing a barbarian. I always hated, that even with out the loading screen it was so obvious, what Astarion was (same with Shadowheart - I would have liked a bit more surprise there too). When he is revealed, I was like 'Duh'. So I do think, this is an improvment. I don't remember if they cover up his bitemarks more.
