Heyo,

I've returned to Baldur's Gate after year-long break and I must say - progress is amazing. BG3 is going to be a game of a decade.

My suggestion is, even for a guy who already played this game, a very start is bit disorientating, but solution is quite simple: point us toward camp and druid grove as soon as posible and we can start Act I sandbox from there. Maybe Larian could drop en encounter with traped Lae'zel a tad bit sooner, or a heroic tiefling could search for survivors of a crush and inform/guide player towards camp, highlighting that goblins are running wild and that is the only safe place. On that note, meeting Wyll "The Blade of Frontier" is just wierd - he was on the nautiloid, but ran away instead of helping others and playing hero, then he fights with goblins at the camp gates but ignores us completely and gets back to training kids like nothing happend. Should small goblin party find nautiloid (I beleive they were serching for it?) fight could start and then Wyll could help us kill them. That would introduce Wyll, goblin menace and a need for a save place all at once. It's Astarion whom we should meet somewere in the wild, taking advantage of us.
