Did you could try re-installing the game? Zip or otherwise backup your saved games folder to another location first, just in case. Then un-install, re-boot, shut down all non essential programs (especially anti-virus), re-install the game, re-boot, shut down all non essential programs, install the patch, re-boot, shut down all non essential programs, start the game. This procedure is a bit over-cautious, but the best way to avoid install problems.
Troubleshooting and Manual Install ProcedureResurrect is usually used on dead enemies. You can use Aura of Command to get them to follow you around. Alternately, you can run or teleport far enough away so that they turn hostile again, then return and kill them again for more experience (and possibly repeat).
One more thing...
The game adds new files to the saved game folder the first time you enter Verdistis and the first time you enter the Dark Forest. Maybe there is some kind of problem with the default versions of the files for the Dark Forest.
.x0 / .0 = Aleroth, Ars magicana, etc.
.x1 / .1 = Verdistis, council hall
.x2 / .2 = Dark Forest
Check your saved game folder and see if there are any .x2 or .2 files. If there are, make a copy of the saved game folder, delete the .x2 and .2 files (there should be 5 files), start Divinity, load the copy of the save and try entering the Dark Forest again.
