SR is faster (like massively faster on my PC) and makes sense from a narrative RP perspective.
"That fight was tough, I'm buggered, let's take a short rest. Ok good to go."
"Ok time for another rest, let's take 5."
"I'm stuffed again but I don't think another short rest will make much difference, let's push on or make a camp for the day."
For me this makes sense as it is. The only issue is does it limit some classes because of 5e assumptions. So in that case I would just suggest allowing another SR or two.
With the amount of difficult fights in the game at the moment I get through most of what is currently in EA without really needing to long rest more than a couple of times. More short rests wouldn't change that really.
