Hey,

So I switched out Astarion for Wyll to run the Gur encounter without the spawn BUT on the next long rest (which was also on the outside camp, with no intermediary camps in between!) both Astarion and Lae'zel had disappeared.

I'm stuck with Wyll, Gale and Shadowheart, with none of the other two in sight.

At first I thought that it might have something to do with the approval levels... but Astarion's was really high at that point, with Lae'zel being neutral.

Any tips?

It's a known issue for patch 8. They get stuck in underground camp areas.

So I managed to get them all gathered back into one spot. The "main camp" by first finding what random underground camp area where I could at least see them all. In this case, inside the goblin fortress. I simply left camp in the goblin fortress, then dismissed the party members from outside the camp. They left, walked back to camp. I reentered the camp area in the fortress, asked the remaining party members that I hadn't dismissed from outside the camp, and then repeated the action. After using this idea, I entered the "main camp" near the grove and all members were there. Hopefully it remains that way for the time being.

But the thing is, I did not go to any underground camp at all --- does that mean that my mission now in BG3 is to poke my head into every hole in the Sword Coast shouting "ASTARIOOOOOON! LAE'ZEEEEEEEEEEEEL! I HAVE SOME FRESH ENEMY FLESH FOR YOU IF YOU COME OOOOOOOOOUT!"


It feels like my pets escaped tbh.

I've found that even walking through an underground area could render them lost. Lost Wyll just by visiting Zentirim merchant under the Inn. Hopefully they hotfix this soon.

I had the same issue when I returned to camp for the celebration. I lost Gale and Astarion

Well, Gale is permanently gone. After reading here I decided to check all the camps and he is nowhere to be seen.

Not in the wilderness (above ground) camp
Not in the underground camp (Zenthium Hideout, basement of Blighted Village)
Not in the Ruins camp (Goblin Ruins, Ruins to the scribe of the dead)
Not in the Underdark Camp
