Quite honestly, the thing i hate most about Friends is that my Sorcerer is unable to cast it without consequences by spending Sorcery Point to Subtle spell ... i mean, if there is no somatic, or verbal component ... what exactly will they notice?
I wholeheartedly approve of making Friends work with Subtle Spell.
