How many elements of the game at the moment are significantly impacted by your choice of race? And what races trigger this?

I've not played through with all races yet, but from what I've picked up the most consistent impact of race is felt when you're a Drow, much less of an impact than expected from being Gith or Tiefling, and that some size related things otherwise, most other races don't have too much of an impact as yet?

Mostly it's fluff, but Drow get some dialogue topside either forcing you to diffuse the situation or receiving assumed authority a few times, and Lolth-sworn have some good conversations with the other Drow true-souls, nothing drastically divergent. Gith get into similar situations with people, and other Gith, now that I think about it I don't think I've played a Gith all the way through, they might get more business with the goblins and the duergar.

I was looking forward to how a Deep Gnome would be treated at Grymforge, but apart from a few cracks, you're treated as a True-Soul first, even among the Gnomes, who kind of need to be reminded you're kin. Of course a lot of this is probably just what's in so far, Gnomes being just added, who knows.

on the other hand one deep Gnome doesn't see your character is also a deep Gnome and starts to tell you the ins and outs of being a deep Gnome wink

Luke Skywalker: I don't, I don't believe it.
Yoda: That is why you failed.

So ... Duergars dont see you as potential slave at first sight?
That would be letdown. frown

The Duergar make some cracks about you usually being their target, or how you should be digging with the others, but I don't remember much else.

As for the Gnomes not trusting me, I didn't talk to them until after killing the Duergar in front of them, and then Nere (who I also decapitated in front of them) so maybe a little benefit of the doubt is in order for one of your kin...guys?

I'd also like to mention, my second go at Nere, I disarmed him, picked up his dropped rapier; which was stealing! And had to reload when the Gnome turned aggressive after saying something akin to; "That's enough of that from you!" So the Gnome IFF is still in effect.
