...a good-aligned dwarf fighter, a virtuous dragonborn paladin, a selfless healer, and a wise elven ranger as companions. But, I guess those characters aren't "dark and edgy enough".
I don't know about dark and edgy, but they definitely sound more cliched than interesting.
That said, I hope everyone gets the chance to create multiple characters. It seems like something that will inevitably be available in the game. I can't imagine why it wouldn't be.
