Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - General Does the BG3 story tie into the original BG games?

Is there any indication that this new game will have deep ties to the lore of the original BG1 and BG2? I recognize that this new story takes place a long time later. But will it link up at all? Do we see signs or clues of this in the content that's been released so far?
