I've been wanting to buy a new rpg lately but I really haven't gone out and bought one since i don't want to waste my money. Do you guys have any recommendations for any RPGs that are out now?

I've done the whole Baldur's Gate thing and that was probably one of my all time favortie RPG's. Storyline and everything was great. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/offtopic.gif" alt="" />

btw...how's icewind dale II? i was just on rpgdot.com and it resembles BG a lot. Is that game any good?

I've enjoyed playing Nox[can hire or capture helpers,depending on who you play as].I thought Silver was very like playing D.D.Both should be bargain bins now.If you enjoyed killing the orcs off you may like Diablo 1 or 2 .I suggest Diablo 2 with the expansion pack.You get to hire a helper, a helper you can EQUIP with weapons, shields, helmets.The helpers are all diffrent in thier abiltys[perfered weapon,magic,etc.] They can stay with you through all the levels! They level up with you .

Fallout 2 is really good fun once you pick it up.few years old now but has a great storyline and excellent weapons and lots of adult humour, and it's set in the future after a nuclear war.

Actually it has some interesting quests. It's a good sequel to Icewind Dale 1 which was only hack and slash. I really reccomend at least to try IWD2. It has 3rd edition rules (some like it, some not). It is closer to Baldur's Gate 2 than to Neverwinter Nights.

Fallout 2 is a good game. You might try Arcanum too, it was made by the same people. BTW, you can marry in Fallout 2 which was the only game where I saw that (you can't marry the elven chick/guy in DD <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />, only kiss and flirt).

I actually saw some screenshots for IWD2 and all the characters looked EXACTLY the same as the ones I had in the BG series. It's like they didn't even try to come up with new character models. That's not a very good idea in my book. I'll prolly get it anyway. It should be somewhat good since Black Isle obviously did that one too and it should be in the bargain bin by now.

If you get IWD2 get the expansion also. There are other portraits to chose from. It is not a hard game to finish. Black Isle is one company I will buy RPGs from. Hopefully they saw <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> and will see <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/riftrunner.gif" alt="" /> before they put out another so that they see what a really good game is. Don't get me wrong I like their games.
