They are in the dwarven halls, follow around on the outside to get to then, you will come across a miner who says there is a monster in the caves...
But, to get to the lower levels, you need to be recruited to gather the cousel of seven.

Mommom, these strange dwarves - are they the ones you find south of the Elven village/Dark Forest, where the elven burial pyres are? If so, just leave this village via south door and beware of the trolls on the road - you'll reach the location then. I have always wondered what happens if you tell the guardian the wrong password I guess you can kill it can't you?

Yes, if you don't use the right password the guardian will turn hostile and you can kill it. It is an easy fight, and gives more experience than using the password.

Isn't the guardian a simple gargoyle?

Basically...I tried attacking it but it didn't do anything. I even answered the question wrong many, MANY times to see if it would attack me and it didn't. It's just a floating gargoyle that speaks to you.

i said the right password but when i finish the quest i comeback to him and killed him w/ poition cloud it took a while though and u need lots of magic potion!!!
