Gale's tattoo looks a lot like Shar's symbol.

It actually looks really similar to Shadowheart's arm tattoo in the artwork. Specifically, the spot on her wrist.

I would provide an image here, but I don't know how to do that stuff. I can't even figure out how to get an avatar image for myself, after all.

Thoughts? Theories?

I think Shar was his lover and she is using him to rebuild the shadow weave. No proof just conjecture

Gale as Neutral Evil...I can see it.

I have summed him up as pretty much a neutral character with a bent toward good (if it doesn't interfere with his goal to regain his connection to the weave).

He is all about power, and will take any short-cut to achieve it.

The biggest "short-cuts" in this game are evil.


Astarian is pretty much true neutral. He serves himself above all, and will play along nice if it isn't too inconvenient.


You will have to prove me wrong, but Wyll is formally selfish, turned to selflessness (that is not an invitation for a debate please....we will see in the fullness of time, at full access). He is my number one companion at this time, and I rate him as Neutral Good.


Laezel: Lawful Evil (same as Darth Vader).


Shadowheart: Is the favorite of several player's here and I can see why. My rub is with Shar (who is Chaotic Evil).

Not to be a pedant, but I'm pretty sure Shar is neutral evil.

He allways seemed to me like pure Chaotic Evil ... willing to torture and harm others, enjoying it, refusing to help anyone, attacking random stranger bcs there is even slight chance they may be potentialy dangerous.
Hes just not so stupid to openly provoking, but beyond that? Certainly all evil.

Not sure it's a tattoo at all. Perhaps just the entry point for his orb?

Honestly, I don't think that's actually a tattoo at all, but rather a symptom of Gale's... condition.

I use tattoo for lack of a better word, but yes, it's almost certainly due to the orb in Gale's chest.

I'm surprised I'm the only one who finds the look similar to Shar's symbol.

Wasn't the orb Netherese in nature? Shadow magic? Isn't that naturally connected to Shar?

What are the chances that Gale has ***TWO*** things inside of him that basically Netherese? One, an orb, and two, a tadpole?

Scar, or even better Mark, sounds like good and fitting words.

Im not sure about Nethereese tho ... he said it was piece of Mistra herself ... how could that even be anything else than weave? O_o

As for those marks ...
At least what i see when i look at Shadowheart is something that looks like Sun covered by some thorny vein ... when i look at Gale mark i see bird that swalloved tenis ball.

Notice that Gale's "tattoo" has elements of both...the Dark Moon and the wavy Weave symbol.

Unless it is the Dark Moon + the Shadow Weave.

I lowered the image quality down to what the site said using paint, so that's probably why it doesn't look as sharp as I was hoping.
