Dice rolling is a fundamental part of DnD (or any other table top game)
You can succeed or fail. Good stats and buffs increase your chances but nothing is certain.
You say BG3 is good because abusing the environment can make you ignore dice rolls. (shove and throw anything, sneaking as mini game to avoid vision cones, and so on).
I say it shows only that Larian knows little about DnD.

I think that if you use the DnD licence you should use DnD rules.
In terms of using DnD rules, Solasta is the better game.
I am not talking about graphics or story.
