I know people will hate on escapist, also known as the pump and dump strategy allowing you to cheese mechanics. Take 4 archers, have one sneak attack, rotate all 4 through. 3 of them escape the fight. And then you do that at infinite to cheese all fights as the person in combat is qued round 1 due to surprise attack. The second hitter is next in line, The first flees. A conveyer belt of death and destruction.
I think it should return to BG3 because it is a meme build. The game already has ways to cheese it, may as well fully embrace it.

![[Linked Image from rpgcodex.net]](https://rpgcodex.net/forums/styles/dark/ratings/pipboy_disapprove.png) I thought Icelyn would settle as our resident advocate for every awful mechanic you could include in a game, but there's some serious competition coming up these days. The last thing Larian needs is to be ENCOURAGED to import more cheesy, broken mechanics from their past titles.

Hell, no...
We have already way too many ways things in BG3 that either break or at least severely imbalance things due to Larian's homebrew, it may have been fun in D:OS2 but this is not D:OS3.

O_o It's a DOS2 trait to avoid AoO when moving away from enemies It reminds me of the Mobile feat which, among other things, prevents AoO from enemies if the mobile PC used a melee attack on them that turn. But OP seemed to suggest using it with archers? For one, ranged attacks don’t proc the Mobile feat. For two, I don’t see how archers get into AoO range in the first place.

In DOS2 it was used to break combat. You'd use it to flee combat, then rejoin using a surprise attack, letting your team go first over and over, never giving the enemy a chance to have a turn.

It was broken, and many players brought it up to Larian. We know how that goes.

yes it would let you flee combat from anywhere even with 1 HP, you could then run to your ship and heal, restock max source [basically long resting in D&D] and then being able to return instantly to a fight using teleport pyramids. Which any player could have 4 of and drop them anywhere they wanted]. It allowed you to abuse stealth mechanics to always go first. However i will say, that escapist was not the most broken trait. I personally see nothing wrong with it- if the player does not want it, they can choose to not use it. Variety is the spice of life. It's a DOS2 trait to avoid AoO when moving away from enemies I see ... Thank you. In that case, its no from me ... On the other hand, if they would implement such thing ... i would simply keep it off.

Pathfinder feature too.
My Deep Gnome Snuggit had it, along with very high Dex, acrobatics, and whatever.
You could spend an hour tying him to a chair, but if you left the room, by the time you got back the ropes would be coiled neatly with a note:
"Thanks for breakfast".

I am a stealth player in almost every game I play and this sounds like the most broken and ridiculous mechanic ever. Stealth already is too easy with not being brought into initiative after a surprise attack, no need to make it even more broken.
