This appears to be related to the launcher.

If I start the game from the BG3 executable when I get to the "press any key to continue" dialogue, I can press a key or click and the game proceeds to the main menu.

If I start from the launcher, when I get to the "press any key to continue" dialogue, I have to click somewhere, anywhere on the screen. The dialogue remains and then I can press a key or click and the game proceeds to the main menu.
