But yes fully agreed, that the time and circumstances required for your character to be dirty should be tweaked, the system is great, it just needs tweaks.

...and Sani-Wipes...definitely Sani-Wipes.

So... I tested. Wet state cleans you. You can just take one of those bottles of water and through at your character with a companion.

Whoa! Ok if you personally don't like the bard class, it's not my favorite either but that was a bit rich don't you think? smile

Exactly! For people like me who think the dirty faces idea is a bad idea, give us the option to turn it off. We can already turn off helm visualizations. Why is that? Because we customers are trying to make an interesting looking character during character creation and don't want our pretty faces covered up, that's why.

Most every RPG has already done away with the need to lug around massive amounts of food and water, because the players didn't want that much realism.

This whole dirty faces idea is terrible. At least the people demanding weight be added to items, consumption of food and drink, and that armor and weapons need to be repaired, could claim they had a legitimate argument that without these games would be too easy. There is no such argument for dirtying up our faces. So this is obviously the idea of some big mucky-muck (BM). The rational people at this company are too afraid to upset BM with the truth - dirty faces is silly.. I'd rather we be able to wear hoods to hide our faces, then to see them always covered in mud.

Why oh why do any of us even bother trying to make an interesting looking character during character creation, if it was all going to be be terminally covered in mud?

I like the dirt feature. But like most other features by Larian, this one is also completely exaggerated and over the top. The amount of dirt you get on your face by just walking on ROADS is comical rather than realistic and it just gets distracting. When you initiate dialogue with someone you're not paying attention to what they are saying. You're just noticing how ridiculously dirty everyone's face is.

Agreed. I despise looking like a homeless man every time I play the game. I get that camping is disgusting and filthy, but I don’t want that in my games. My family already forces me to play pretend homeless more then I want to. Make it a toggle, or better yet. Remove it entirely. No one will complain

There's a lot of middle ground between getting as dirty as the PC's currently do, and never getting dirty at all.

Like getting a little bit of blood and dirt on your clothes or armor in combat, but not all over your face. A face would be easy to wipe clean anyway so the face dirt shouldn't last long.

That or give us an option to shower at camp before we go to sleep, or add a cantrip called: delousing. You can make an additional simple add on- if your covered in dirt or blood, you get a -3 to persuasion and stealth as you look homeless and smell so bad, that enemies can detect your stink

For now, I'm using a mod to totally disable it.
