DS was a boring game to me. I had fun with it for the first few hours but after that it was a direct downhill experience. I did end up beating it, but it took a while because it was pretty much the same thing after the same thing with diffrent names. Now DD was great. It has humor, action, a way better story then DS, and a huge amount of replayability. Go for Divine Divinity over Dungeon Seige, it is better in almost every way.
I agree with "TwiztidT" on this. I have played and beaten "DS" and after a while it was the same thing with slight twists. Got rather old. But <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> I have been playing for weeks (Hour or two every day or two, not continous) and there is something always there to keep you going on to the next one. I am still working my way thru this one with quests still not done yet which I will need too try and go back to to feel like I completed the game! Buy <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" />! You will not regret it!
