Console port hasn't been announced so far, but it is likely to happen. So far Larian cadence has been to release their RPGs on PC first, and then spend about a year working on further improvements to the title while working on console ports.
While BG3 is the highest fidelity cRPG we have ever seen, it is not on par with your average AAA eyecandy extravaganza. So whenever BG3 will run well and on what systems will likely more depend on the quality of the port, rather then game itself. Larian managed to port D:OS2 to the Switch, so they are clearly commited to supporting variety of hardware, in spite of their technical limitations. It remains to be seen what they will manage to port BG3 to, and when - the team is far bigger then it used to be, so it is not impossible that console players won't have to wait a full year this time around - with no official word of the matter, that's what I would brace myself for, however. That said, we don't even have a PC release date for now, so maybe we will hear more about potential console ports later down the line.
