To me anyways, the <rules> in this game feels like a pre-EA development phase. Try this try that and see what turnips sticks to the wall...The game say do this, <<thats how you play>>, but then takes a 90 turn and brings out weird rules.
I am confused on what Larian is trying to bring out in this game. Checking their social media stuff, I am even more confused. Weird jokes, fan fiction like kids are running the show...nothing substantial regarding the game systems or lore.

Example on how I feel Larian is handling its game communication:

-Is this a D&D5 game; yes or no? Larian : Maybe but yes its like homebrew D&D.
-How many classes and what abilities (ability trees) will be available? Larian : We don't know yet all the classes, but similar to D&D...
etc...
There is NOTHING concrete about anything?!

My theory goes that they must be super busy creating this amazing story with cinematic, romances, dialogues; and still have little clue and how exactly the gameplay and rules will evolve.

Of course everything should not be set in stone, but after 2 years + x year of development there are some things WHICH ARE set in stone and should be communicated to us the gamers/testers...hopefully.

It just reminded me of the bowl of goat's milk that old Winthrop used to put outside his door every evening for the dust demons. He said the dust demons could never resist goat's milk, and that they would always drink themselves into a stupor and then be too tired to enter his room..
