In the interm before my access to the game is gone, will there still be updates to it? Will I get to see and play any patches and content releases Larian puts out for EA, or does this mean Larian ends everything they're doing for the Stadia version right this moment?

I'm not entirely sure how the programming works here, but judging from the fact that Stadia frequently got updates late, my guess is the Stadia version won't be updated in the event that we get a new patch before the planned shutdown of Stadia services.

I'd actually be more willing to bet that Larian might not even release the next patch until they get an alternative to Stadia up and running.

It's been announced that the next patch will be before end of the next year, I saw nothing saying we would or would not be getting it however.

the next patch is this year and may well have Stadia stuff in it because Google did that 'by the way' post

it does take time effort to make things work in Stadia and thats a waist now so i would assume you get the next patch and then thats it

I Personally hope Larian go for a diffrent cloud gaming and put the google team on, what ever platform they pick, gforce has a version? Im not sure who else does cloud gaming

If they dont plan on doing a diffrent cloud platform, o guess they will dump the google team, in to the core team to speed up development, if they finsh development before starting a new project, they will have a bigger team free to smash what ever platform they pick

You can still any game you want in the cloud with Shadow anyway.

Well personally I'm going to complete my desktop, just need a good GPU, and get it from Steam. But until then - Stadia is my only way to access the game. It's been great and I'm really hoping to see any new content I can.

It does take development time, and there have been instances of where the Stadia updates have lagged behind the normal version. So I worry that it simply won't happen, seeing as the service is being ended.

Is there a point to be updated on Stadia? To what end? The game won't ever ship there now. Better they use resources for something else, and finishing and polishing the game, at this point.

I understand the thought but, Yeah, there's a point. Many of us bought the game for stadia, just like you bought the game, and we're just as entitled to get what we paid for as you are. For as long as we can anyway.
Some of us at least, bought it for Stadia because that was our only option to play it.
So we would like to be able to play as much as we can before we can't play it anymore at all. Giving Patch 9 to stadia players isn't reducing the time for final release at all. Would screwing Stadia players get final release faster? Maybe. But you're not losing out on anything or delaying anything more so than if Stadia we're still staying in business.
