How will you proceed once we have full release? Most of us know EA more or less inside and out, and assuming there aren't major changes will you head straight for Moonrise Towers as fast as possible? Will you take time to explore a few side quests to acquire items you already know are there (unless they disappear lol) and also to gain XP? Or will you try and complete everything in the hopes there are some new additions or just because it's what you do?

Any particular quests you will deliberately avoid and if so why?

Personally on my first crack at full release I'll probably head to MRT as fast as is practical. Although I may divert to try and recruit Karlach. I am really done with Act I (at least that we have been shown). Someday I may try and do the whole tour start to finish.

Personally I'll play the same way as I always do, the completionist route. Explore every inch, do every quest and loot everything in sight ^^

Even though I played through ACT I so many times, I don't get bored whatsoever and there will be plenty of new features and additions to explore in ACT I on release so I'm excited to see all the changes, additions and improvements.

It will be a completionist runthrough. I have done thorough playthrough only once, so I am not too burned out on act1. I will be also curious to see how much has change with 1.0. Based on my experience with EA, I don't expect to replay BG3 much, as I just don't think it is a very replayable RPG but maybe 1.0 will change my mind.

I will save every two steps because, as much as I am confident in Larian abilities, the game will most likely very unstable.

All cRPGs typically are at launch. I don't remember a single recent cRPG that was relatively bug-free at release.

You're not going to have a favorable experience rushing through the game at launch because of bugs and crashes.

+1 !

I will play as I always do (aka not going straight to Moonrise Tower but exploring everything and doing most quests) because :
1) I love exploring and my characters usually have the soul of an adventurer.

2) While this could be better conveyed, we learn fairly soon (Night 1 and 2, Nettie, Raphael, Halsin...) that our tadpoles seem atypical and we probably won't be transforming any time soon (a plot armor I'm fine with).

3) We are bound to face terrible foes (mindflayers, giths and cambions to name a few). Yet, we start as weaklings with nothing in our pockets. If we want a chance to survive, we need to train, make alliances, get better equipment and find powerful artefacts. Same logic applies to crashing a Goblin Camp when not ready yet. I usually do that part last (when my characters feel ready to face that challenge).

4) While my characters have no desire to become heroes, they would usually be ready to hear people out / help them (the "how" is another story). Sometimes it would be on a whim, pushed by their curiosity, sometimes it's what their conscience dictates. Also, this usually leads to more exploration ^^
At lower levels and/or under certain circonstances (ie: just survived a ship crashing), my characters might refuse certain quests (at least at first), like playing mediator between Kagha and Zevlor. I usually indirectly help them later on but only because I've discovered the whole Shadow-Druids-plot during my explorations (snooping around / stealing stuff).

However, they are things I could potentially avoid (still up for personal debate) :
- The whole Waukeen's Rest area...that rescue mission and dealing with the fire is such a pain. I would probably do it but I avoid that part during EA.

- Going to the Crèche : "Purification rite" screams "beheading" to me...or maybe it's just Lae'zel giving that vibe 😅. I most likely will still try it. Although, I won't do it if it locks the other path (going to Moonrise Tower with Halsin).

- Recruiting Wyll : If other players like him, that awesome! Have fun! But, in my case, it's just not a match. Even though my Tav is a good noodle.

About boredom/burnout: I usually stop playing as soon as I feel like I might burn out. For instance, I'm currently playing DOS2 for the first time (Having a blast!) instead of BG3. Most likely, I'll wait for the next patch before going back to BG3.

I will do a mostly complete playthrough!😊 I am looking forward to playing the finished game!

The quest I usually skip in EA is Karlach’s quest. I don’t like the options in that quest. Hopefully in the full release there will be more options!

I’m doing the only sensible thing and following the professional mindflayer hunter to the secret mindflayer hunter base. Much like my skull after a lobotomy, it’s a no-brainer.

I do most quests probably. I might avoid or kill off Astarion, If they don't change his introduction, because I don't have a reason to let him join or even let him live, when he attacks me like that.
There are a lot of quests , I look forward to, like Auntie Ethel ( still the best character in the game) or the shadowdruids, some quests I don't like, like Waukeens Rest or meeting the Githyanki.
I think, I might not like the whole finding a creche Questline tbh.

I will play as I always do, which is rping my character. Some quests will be ignored depending on what that character would do/not do. Will probably skip the Waukeen's Rest fire stuff on most characters because the micromanaging nonsense just makes me annoyed.

I will try to break the game as much as possible and see how much choices truly matter, or if it's an illusion.

I want to go through everything slowly, savoring the scenes and getting immersed in the story. I intend to explore all of the areas as thoroughly as possible.

Depends on lots of things ...
How different will things be, how level cap will be implemented, what party size i will have, what character shall i play (for example im quite curious about my 3 custom Githyanki + Lae'zel gameplay) etc.

Same here ...
Since they removed "attack now" button i tend to prevwntively kill him before ww even speak ... it makes more sense to me than talk to him as we vere friends and attack after that. :-/

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown

I'm hoping they might change Act 1 in some ways to keep the whole game fresh. Adding a few more quests and npc's, maybe change a few of the set piece battles. Be good to see one or two of the early side quests fleshed out also. With that mind, my first post EA run will be a full lift up everything and read every book. I think it would be an even better experience if they did do some refreshing.

Ijust switch to Shadowheart and let her attack, since she threatens him anyway. If lucky, she kills him otherwise, my character can join the fight.

She is the only stable in my group and yes, I know, you don't like her. But you can just go to where Gale spawns first and collect him and/or free Lae'zel and then go back to Astarion and kill him in dialogue.

oof, that's a rough choice, recruit SH and be able to kill Ass in dialogue, or not recruit SH but cannot kill Ass. No win situation there ^^
