Time for some topic necromancy! >:]

So:
Do you think Larian will implement Firearms in full release?
And if your answer is yes ... how would you like it to be implemented?

Personaly, i started to hope so lately, and i think Firearms should be exactly the same as Crossbows ... i have seen some damage here (hope this isnt some homebrew side again laugh ) ... but i see no reason to make it even stronger. :-/

Also concidering how much Gunpowder exist in this game, i will never ever EVER believe that nobody invented Musket yet. O_o
And i must admit that my Dwarf ranger would look much better with a Musket, than Bow. :-/

Well, even though gunpowder exists in Toril, it is an inert form, meaning it can't explode. That's because Gond decided it was too dangerous for mortals(more explicitly his own clergy) to handle. He did teach mortals to make smokepowder instead, but considering both substances have pretty much the same qualities and traits it's nit-picky to differentiate between them. And, according to Forgotten Realms Adventures, he also taught some how to make firearms. So technically they do exist in the lore.
However Rag, the amount of smokepowder/gunpowder available doesn't necessarily mean that the population of Toril would had invented muskets or flintlocks yet without the intervening from Gond. After all, in our reality it took us humans 600 years give or take to go from the discovery of gunpowder to the invention of the musket smile Invention is probably the wrong word though since it did evolve from earlier types of firearms.

As for not listening to the man you quoted I'll have to say that I agree with him. Which means I both do and don't agree with you...ugh, this is giving me a headache :P

Edit: Oh, and to answer the question...I sure as hell hope not.
