Hi, everyone!
Originally, I posted this in the "
Divinity - Original Sin 2 - General" subforum, but someone told me that this would be a better place to ask this.
Anyway, as the title says, I'm looking for a mod (or at least help on creating my own) on how to implement
Tactician Mode's "Smart AI" feature into the Classic Mode difficulty.
My goal is to play the game on a difficulty that has no player or enemy alterations to their stats, skills, APs, etc. but with the best possible enemy AI that the game can offer, using the same abilities as the player would have were they in the same situation.
The only way I thought that this might be possible was either via an already existing mod or by creating the mod myself (for which I would need some guidance).
Now the goal of the mod is to do either of the following two things:
- Replace the Classic Mode's AI with the Tactician Mode's in the Classic Mode difficulty, or
- Remove all the Tactician mode bonuses that the enemy gets on that difficulty. That includes things like stat boosts (like +50% Vitality, +50% Damage, +2% Damage boost per/lvl, +50% Armor, etc.), additional AP, and skills, and different merchant prices
So far, the only mods that I've found are
this,
this, and
this one, but neither of them do what I'm looking for (or at least to that extent).
From what I've read, it seems that the developers created two AI versions, 2.0 & 2.1, the former being (called Smart AI) is used only in the Tactician Mode difficulty, while the latter (Normal AI) is being used in every other difficulty mode. And from what I've read, it seems that the 2.1 version of the AI was actually a nerf to the 2.0 because the 2.0 was so smart, they made it available only on the hardest difficulty.
Any suggestions on where to find a mod like this, or how to create a mod myself?
I've tried to edit the existing mods mentioned above, but all of them come in .pak files, and when opened with a text editor, they're unable to be modified.
Also, for reference, the difficulty mode differences can be found on this website.
Apologies for the long post.
Cheers!
