Im not actualy sure if i didnt suggested this in the past, but quick search didnt offered any topic where "tiefling" and "food" would be both present ...

Some time ago i was reading some roleplay advices, and there was one that i really liked ...
Sadly i no longer remember where i read it, so i cant really honor its autor. frown

Anyway the point of that advice was to try find everyday usage of racial stats ...
For example ...

Tieflings are fire-resistant ... so one of suggestions (and the main one for purpose of this topic) was to roleplay them as spicy-food lovers ...
I know its not "exactly fire" but even so, i must admit i liked the idea.

Another idea i remember was that Dwarves, who are poison-resistant ... like things like mushrooms that are harder to digest, not exactly poisonous tho, but some kind that could cause stomach cramps to Human.

Why i say it?
Since i simply think it would be funny, when that old Tiefling lady offers us a bowl of some kind of soup ... if our character would taste it and find out that Tieflings kitchen is a little too Hot for regular tongue. laugh

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown
Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are! frown

Poison resistance is a lot easier to incorporate into everyday life than an elemental resistance. There are many things that we enjoy that are technically poisonous, such as anything alcoholic, and any vegetable in the nightshade family (tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, peppers of all kinds), but most of them are either only poisonous in very large amounts, or are commonly cooked, which breaks down any harmful compounds and makes them safe to eat (some types of fungus can't be eaten raw). A person who is resistant to poison would be able to eat some foods that humans normally stay away from. The best example that comes to mind immediately is fly amanita mushrooms (the famous red capped white-spotted mushroom), which are both poisonous and edible with proper treatment. Dwarves might not need to boil them twice before cooking to break down the poisonous compound. They might also be able to consume green tomatoes in large amounts without fear.

Elemental resistances might appear in a more subtle way. A tiefling never has to wait for their lasagna to cool, never has to blow on their food, never has an incident of putting too-hot food in their mouth and then huffing to try and cool it. Maybe tiefling cuisine involves more flambe dishes, or dishes served while set on fire with spirits.

Someone resistant to cold might never suffer from brain freeze, a cold-headache related to eating frozen food, and their cuisine has a lot more cold dishes, or frozen foods.

Maybe acid resistance is not getting that stinging mouth sensation when eating food with a lot of citric acid, or not minding sour foods.

Yeah, that's about it, I can't think of anything food related for someone with lighting or thunder resistance.

Electric eels? At the very least, catching them will be easier for someone with lightning resistance.

This makes me think of something my mother told me about the people from...someplace that she stayed in. In their culture, people would cook stew and food in big, clay pots. They would take the food off of the fire and start eating while the food was still boiling, since by the time it cooled down, the stew would be all dried out. I think something like that could be a thing tieflings do thanks to their resistance to fire and heat.
