This makes me think of something my mother told me about the people from...someplace that she stayed in. In their culture, people would cook stew and food in big, clay pots. They would take the food off of the fire and start eating while the food was still boiling, since by the time it cooled down, the stew would be all dried out. I think something like that could be a thing tieflings do thanks to their resistance to fire and heat.
