I think the point of Krom's post is that a lot of characters are cliché or off-putting at first blush, but become more realized people given enough time.
And I think it is really worth the time to talk to each of them and get to know them better. I think they are fully realized characters, and quite complex. You do not have to agree with them, but I think talking is always a nice thing
