To all the DD gamers:
What was your hardest battle in the game?
Mine was the Executioner in the Sewers. I met up with him at 10th level and after getting my backside handed to me several times I decided to leave him alone for awhile until I leveled up a few more levels.

I think (like a lot of others) it was Josephine... But, the skeletonsa dn stuff in the Catacombs were brutal too.

I haven't gotten that far in the game but see the Massacre at Rivellon thread to read two of my latest.

Josephine and those blasted dwarfs! I am still stuck there! I think I have to wait and go somewhere else and use "Raze's" Advice and grab a point for "Flash Attack" to beat this one.

The spider at the bottom of the catacombs, under one of the four floor tiles. It could kill me in 2 or 3 hits; I was half dead before I could get close enough to even hit it. I didn't have a bow, but did find a Burning Wall spell book in Mardaneus' house (which I remembered after dying a few times). It took awhile since I had to either be running or on the other side of the iron ladder to stay alive, but I finally killed it. I was very disappointed that it did not drop anything (one of the other rooms had an amulet that I used for the rest of the game, though I was tempted to change it a couple times) and the only reward was a few useless gems.

When i was in lvl30 with my survivor in dark forest, a mutated spider kill me with 2 hits and i think damn spider i'll kill you in the next time, and i tried again and the spider kill me again, in the third time i sent the death knight to fight against it, and i stayed far from it and start to cast spells, fire, cold, lightning and the spider died, but don't give me nothing good, i was thinking in kill it again but i decided was better i leave from that place.
Who's gonna show you how to fly!

well i started another game as warrior again....and for the past 2 night i've been battling, my way through the sewers of rivertown and verd.....i didn't remember to save, after a long time and finally found the tunnel to the castle, that was locked, i came back out turned the corner and one of these mage's was there and "beaked" me....it took almost all my life away... ...frantically right clicking for restoration........i died...... , so i went through the whole procedure again, this time i remembered that i had the frost sword in my book, and promptly equipped it.....what a breeze that frost sword makes of things....almost like cheating....but were it not for that i don't know how i would have defeated the mage....

Hehehe, the freezing sword is incredible, it's cheesy but as you said, Jurak, it's the only way .

that damn skeletal conjurer lord and skeletal guardians in the 2nd level of the catacombs, the ones who guard all those axes. they're mighty scary even in easy mode; they do a lot of damage and take away a chunk of your hp's. i never go melee with them when i start a new char.; just buy a bow and fire away.
i agree with raze, the spider under the sw floor tile in the last level of the catacombs can be mighty deadly.
i can't understand why this game seems so hard at the beginning and then gets relatively easier at the latter part.

The dreadful spiders... I still have trouble killing the Giant Spider without losing too much HP. So I just let my Steel Scorpions have some fun while I am looting orc corpses .

Mine was the one of the last sub-bosses, right before the end. He used blind on me and was casting hell spikes like crazy. Wasn't hard but took a lot more time to kill him than other bosses.

Cornelius, yeah. I think everyone of them uses the same tactic: blind then start using spells. I didn't want to see what spells the intended to use so I killed the first 4 mages right away. Cornelius could cast blind before I struck him, I had to jump arround avoiding his hell spikes. Of course, when the blind wore off, I showed him the errors of his ways...
