I saw that and it does officially confirm one previously data-mined spoiler (so, technically not a spoiler anymore?) :
Minsc will be part of Baldur's Gate 3.

I never played the previous BG games. Still, can't wait to meet that character

Very happy to see them talking more about Minsc.
I still hope he is a Barbarian though. Much more fun as a class than Ranger, and as someone who has not played the original games, it does seem to fit his character more from what I have heard of him. It seems to me he was mostly a ranger, because Barbarian was not implemented in BG1 in the beginning.

And I really want a Barbarian PC haha
(assuming Karlach will be some sort of Paladin)

I love getting hyped over BG3. Can't wait to play it and just as much to live through the coming Thursday announcement, then the great Panel and all of the yet unrevealed events. It's such a nice pause from the day-to-day basis

And, man, learning the Launch Date at last is such a tease in itself!

I see a lot of people speculating for the announcement of the launch date. That would be awesome! And it would make sense given the current setting (reveal with the Game Awards and we are approaching 2023).

Do you guys think based on the teaser there might be a start to the game in Baldur's Gate?

I thought I was the only that caught that. Also, the leaves blowing out with the wind...(weather/seasons passing🤷)

They show their ages in quite a few ways, but I really reccomend them regardless. They're genuinely fun and the gameplay and story holds up even today. Though, the 'hd re-release' replaces the cutscenes and makes some of it's own bugs, surprisingly. There's even a mod to get it working in NWN2.

You mean that whole EA would be just testing ground that dont actualy get used in the end? O_o

That would be some crazy move from Larian no doubt ...
But nope, i dont think it would ... this de-petryfying we have seen in trailer happened in some comics (dont remember the name, mindbreaker i believe? not really sure) ...
So i would dare to guess it was prior to BG-3 story ... most likely not too far, but still in the past.

Or at least i hope so ... i really dont want to wait for my companion til half game is done and my party is setled and balanced. :-/

I'm talking about a segment of the game that leads up to our capture. If Minsc is playable (which I thought he was going to be) then just waking up in the nautiloid doesn't make much sense

MelivySilverRoot, naturally I would recommend the original games, especially modded out with the tweaks and fixes that have accrued over the decades. Minsc, for whatever reason, became the ambassador of those games, but I wouldn't say he's really indicative of the tone therein. My mind boggles, thinking about what it will be like to meet Minsc for the first time.

I have been hoping for a pre-ship prologue... so that would be cool.

More likely than not Minsc gets snatched up onto the ship though.
