No actual 3D play, Flight will still be just a fancy jump that you can do on your turn and you will forever be stuck in the range of the melees regardless.
I despair that any major improvement to halfling models or animations is going to happen, at this stage.
Set pieces look nice, animations still look like janky arse... I don't know, I just expect better smoothness and quality from a game released today, than what I'm seeing here. Individual unique and special animation sequences are fine, but the rest... not so much.
August next year release date.
I don't think there was any actual other information?
It is really a shame to Larian that BG3 has the worst animations of all games presented at TGA including indies. And by a WIDE margin.
Pieces from act1 sucked ass at first as well, but now they look pretty good. I guess between "less information - more polish" and "more information - less polish" they went with the second option. By the way, most comments on youtube are quite positive, although I am not surprised that these forums still have the same posters being hyper negative from the get go.
I'm excited for Minsc and Jahiera, but I'm hoping Delina is playable too, as both a nod to the comic books, but also she is my favourite card in Magic the Gatherings Adventures in the Forgotten Realms.
So much fun playing Delina on Arena in History Brawl, I mean creating a series of token copies of Purphoros Bronzeblooded where the God bursts our of the Card roaring, hammer in hand is just epic.
Plus having a female love interest/playable companion that is neither old, nor evil would be nice.
I don't think there was any actual other information?
I guess gameplay wise (not counting spells etc) we also got some paladin footage, but was not much. It confirms the paladin rumors though.
I think I missed the Paladin stuff. What does that leave us for classes, just the Monk and Artificer (if they do it at all) to put in?

That scene with the drider looked like it was from the perspective of the party spying on a party of Absolute people being guided from Moonrise. If that's the spider/drider lady you're talking about
Main feedback regarding animations, looks and love interests -- if I'd be a cynical, that shows why (AAA) RPGs have declined so massively ever since the 1990s / early 2000s. But then, it's a trailer to show just that kinda stuff, so alright.
Didn't pick up the Early Access since when it was released over two years ago. I just wanted to take a look and play it through once, but wait for the final release. Did the EA introduce driders already with the later Underdark update?
While I am happy that a release date has been put forth, my first reaction to the Collector's Edition was .... less than pleased.
I don't object to the idea overall, but I didn't see any kind of an "upgrade" option for people who've already bought and played the game through early access.
And having said that, honestly the only thing I'd really want is the artbook. I don't have shelf space for a diorama, and I don't play Magic. And I think $350 Cdn. is a bit much, to be honest.
So... looking forward to the game release, but that's it. :P

We see a couple third level spells (fly 1:00, lightning bolt 0:49, fireball 1:20, hypnotic pattern??? 1:18)
Could this mean level 5 in the next patch? Also, we see the aasimar twice (once fallen Aasimar 0:16, and once protector aasimar 1:06) Maybe the race for the next patch? half orc too at 1:10, but as an NPC, not Tav.
Also at 0:56 branding smite, possibly on a lv 5 Paladin Tav?
Probably the trailer and the next patch are not directly linked, but it is at least interesting, that they did not just show of lv 4 EA stuff, or, if they decided to show other finished spells etc, ONLY level 3 spells, not other interesting spells like animate objects etc
Edit: My timestamps refer to the GameSpot trailer, which is for some reason 3 seconds shorter. So I may be of by a second or two
Everything looks like it's made of plastic. The people. The places. The landscape. The buildings. The attire. It all looks like bad Renaissance cosplay. The animations are horrific for 2022. This looks straight out of 2009. Revealing Minsc with no voice? It isn't Minsc if he isn't voiced by Jim Cummings. If you reveal Minsc, you at least need to include one signature line from him and a squeak from Boo. Seeing him all growly and angry and just bursting out of a mimic is...well, quite honestly, the worst way to reveal him. You show what makes Minsc Minsc first. What made everyone love him in BG1 & 2 so those new to the franchise see what makes him so loved. THEN you show off the berserkery bits.
There's next to no clue as to what the narrative is or what motivates the protagonist. Nothing here to engage the (potential) players. Nothing to tantalize them. Oh sure, Mind Flayers bad...tadpole in the head bad (which reeks as a ripoff of the Spirit-Eater from Neverwinter Nights 2)...but where's the adventure? It's all monologuing and context-less exposition and superhero landings. Those have their place, absolutely, but you do not entice and excite people with exposition and posing. Not at this stage. Not less than a year from release. That's good for the initial announcement and early days to get people talking...but now it's time to show the proper goods.
This feels so much like a trailer for one of those ripoff movies of summer blockbuster films. This is more Transmorphers than Transformers.
Will I buy this? Yes. I've said that from Day 1. I love this franchise and will give the full release (not touching early access and definitely no pre-order) of BG3 more than a fair shot to impress. But I gotta say, just not impressed yet. Not by a long shot.

So far, there are no driders in the game. There are mentions, but nothing more. The guy in the trailer would be the first drider, I guess.
I like seeing Jaheira again, not so much Minsc. But I hope, they keep references to Gorions ward scarce, because I don 't want that Revan desaster all over again ( I already know, that Gorions ward was made a male ranger or so in some novels, but I thoroughly ignore that).
As for the trailer: August as release date is great news. I really look forward to it. I hope, we get the promised better reactions before that , and some more companions.
And yes, like Niara I hope, they update the halflings. As of now, they are a mess.

"We are all stories in the end. Just make it a good one."
You cannot watch that trailer & not be impressed - August is a long way off which is great 👍🏼- let’s hope patch 9 has some additional improvements to the game. And there are still those who say this isn’t d&d …….tough crowd. They’re wrong of course but still….
Not impressed honestly. This looks straight out of 2009.
Nah, there's something missing for 2009ish. The bloods, the guts, the boobies. And the randomly licensed Marilyn Manson track. All to get you pumped, even if you didn't give a damn about party-based, tactical combat RPGS, including BG, before.
