Not impressed honestly. This looks straight out of 2009.
Nah, there's something missing for 2009ish. The bloods, the guts, the boobies. And the randomly licensed Marilyn Manson track. All to get you pumped, even if you didn't give a damn about party-based, tactical combat RPGS, including BG, before.
2009 was the new shit!
That was then-Bioware's attempt to address one of the big criticisms about their otherwise stellar games of the time: they were just too simplistic in their narratives and action (no moral grey areas, cartoonish violence, fun but not particularly deep NPCs and characters). Didn't mean their games weren't some of the best I've ever played...they certainly were. They could have just been that much better. DAO I feel over-corrected a bit, but it was still fantastic and was the last (along with ME2) great game they released. Everything since DAO/ME2 was a sharp decline....resulting in the Bioware of today being a bad joke.
As trailers go...this one for BG3 sucked.
In any case, BG3, thus far, has not impressed (or even excited) me. I'll still pick it up and play it through to completion and decide then if I'll continue to support Larian's future efforts with it (if there are to be any).
