This game is one of the best rpgs in a very long time but today, I uinstalled it deleted my savegames, put the cds neatly into the cases and returned it to its box, carefully closed it and put it on the shelf to be sold on ebay. And why one might ask? This game good, though it is has more bugs, glitches, crashes than any game I have ever played. I had spent hours and hours on this game, reinstalling, downloading patches all in vain, technical support, I tried it all. Anyone who has played this game has gone through the same thing regardless if you admit it or not. I sadly lay it to rest in hopes that perhaps it will be recoded and correctly written at some future point in time. Theres nothing more frustrating than investiing your time in something that isn't working properly, save games corrupted after hours of caves, tombs, castles and what happens !@#$% happens. The group of people who put this game together did an exceptional job. Except it wasn't given grueling tests that would have made it a classic game.

i agree.

i've fought and fought with it, and managed to cut out alot of the problems i was having (via ditching smoothness, skipping the test, lowering sound, etc.) but i'm still having problems with corrupted saves. as much fun as this game is (was) i can't keep frustrating myself like this: there are too many other demands on my time.

i dunno maybe i'm lucky.......but since i did it all from scratch again....
i've had not one problem.....except forgetting where everything is...:D

i tell ya....clean install....patches in the order they came out,
and a fresh game....works for me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />
with a nice red dawn and sunset to boot! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Of course! It's an evil conspiracy by Larian: everyone who openly complains about the game is instantly digitalized in a torture chamber and his real body sent to hell.... Seriously, why do you think so?



Not a single major problem here on Win Xp.
Well, I had one non-major problem: if I saved with Automap on, when I loaded it I had the map turn blue. When I happened, I backed up my saves, uninstalled then reinstalled the game. I did that the second time too.

You sure it's the only game where you experiance similar problems?

i played it throught the first time with no patch and it worked absolutely fine.

i hadn't ia problem neither. and i played it under win98 and win Xp.

maybe you have a bad memory module?
i heard that this could cause randomly problems.
there are ways of checking your memories with a tool.
