Just wondering about alternatives ... NPC one is obvious, no matter if Aasimar or regular Angel (Celestial?) in that case ... but how about some Transmutation(?) spells?

There's no 3rd level transmutation spell that might let you grow wings, because the Fly spell does not give you wings. However, it might be the case that Larian's visual effect for the Fly spell is to give the character wings, which is probably what we're seeing.

Could also be wings of flying, which is a well-known magic item.
