I mean , its not a huge deal-breaker to immersion...I agree. I over stated that.
But being a photographer; to by eyes its annoying.
A quick fix would be to have in-game color/contrast/shadow controls so suit anyone's tastes. I'd put color way down and up the contrast a bit and add a little shadow detail clarity. I like my fantasy worlds dark and gritty; not colorful and shiny (except for DOS series smile
There are pretty good options like this for Pathfinder WoTr, If I remember right. Though the art style kind of ruins if you want a more realistic take on lighting.

And it seems Larian maded worst in the later patches from what I am reading in the forums? The game WAS a bit darker/shadows in prior versions it seems.
I used this amazing tool..SweetFX its called I think...to edit the engine lighting when I played Deadfire because it again felt too colorful and blurry. Wonder if that will be possible with BG3?

It just reminded me of the bowl of goat's milk that old Winthrop used to put outside his door every evening for the dust demons. He said the dust demons could never resist goat's milk, and that they would always drink themselves into a stupor and then be too tired to enter his room..
