How would you loot your own alter-ego/subconscious? The Oathbreaker Knight does look like a Final Fantasy character. You can ask him who he is and he says he was the first Paladin to break his Oath. He got quite a bit of dialogue for someone just there to switch your subclass. He might be involved in other stuff in the full game.
