The shield disappearing once the character sheaths de weapon just breaks my immersion. I know it's a very minor thing, but maybe just do like dos2, shields displaying in the back and one-hand weapons on the waist.

Is this a new problem with patch 9, do you know? My paladin is the first character I’ve ever played who has used a shield so I’ve never noticed it before, but agree that it’s noticeably odd that the shield just disappears rather than being shown slung on the avatar’s back.

The shield disappearing is weird. Probably because it requires more work to prevent clipping. Hopefully, they are working on it and the shield will always be visible on release.

Some weapons being on the waist would be more realistic as well, in my opinion. But slightly not as immersion breaking as the missing shield.

If I remember correctly, SH didn't have her shield visible when out of combat either.

They should also add sheaths for weapons. So weird seeing my dual short-swords hanging on my back like they do. If I fell over backwards, I'd double stab myself grin

And those dual hand crossbows should be placed on the hips rather than lower back. Next patch for sure!

There is this guy on Youtube who tried to make a proper sheaths to carry his sword on his back. There are some advantages to this (which would require a special custom made scabbard/sheath) but even him admits that there are some risks when carrying weapons that way (it's not as safe indeed, and not necessary historically accurate) : here

The video as a whole is interesting, I recommend ^^

Yes! Omg, please! Let me feel like Lara Croft in D&D 😄
They also look incredible odd hanging on the back anyway x)

Looks like Larian does not care AT ALL about creating things that look realistic (in the reality of the universe). They do not seem to care aboyt anything else than "fun".

Oh I'm aware of Shadiversity and that particular video. Because of him I can't ever look at swords on backs without thinking of him for years now grin

Considering how things went towards the opposite of dark and gritty realism since Patch 8, yes certain design choices are quite questionable and make me extremely confused. Like they cannot decide whether they want realism or fantasy, so it ends up being neither.

In my honest opinion ... most "fun" would be to pick where you want your weapons to hang. smile

I find the disappearing shields really jarring, much like most two handed weapons stowed on your back that are clearly too big to be carried that way.

I'm constantly hitting the button to draw weapons to keep them out at all times. Even Wizards look exponentially cooler holding their staffs in their hand. Two handed weapons and shields should both default to being drawn.

Yes, it's terrible, and often discussed before. I don't like Pathfinder, but the baggage and weapon/shield carrying visuals there are extremely superior to BG3. We need sheaths/slings, hip carriage for shorter weapons, visible shields and some kind of backpacks or shoulder bags. If they can do only one, I opt for visible shields.

@ Crimsonrider: why is Shadowheart wearing a 13 AC armor at that level and not a 14 AC scale armor (which you get at lvl 2 at the ruins)? Or is it a +1 armor and you use it because it looks much better? wink

Maybe a cinematic dialogues problems/issues?? Too much time?
Faster to make an in-depth multi-color hair editor it seems.

It just reminded me of the bowl of goat's milk that old Winthrop used to put outside his door every evening for the dust demons. He said the dust demons could never resist goat's milk, and that they would always drink themselves into a stupor and then be too tired to enter his room..
