So if you attack the Goblins at the Blighted Village or take part in the fight there as a Paladin you break your Oath.... is that normal ? ( I dont know any of the rulesets for D&D )

Seems legit to me ...

Sure, there is that ingame absurdity that if you kill them youreself, you break your oath ... but if you simply support your companions who do the killing you are completely fine and still clean like a lily petals. laugh

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown
Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are! frown

Yea, so as I said in another thread. This system needs to be completely revamped. First, I never picked an alignment when I created my character. The Oath's make no sense, how am I getting Divine Powers without having a Diety? So, If I'm being completely forced to be this goody two-shoes Paladin of old.. (1e/2e) why is it bad for me to kill evil creatures? Oh, wait there are no evil creatures in this watered down crap fest of D&D we have now. I killed goblins that had the corpses of dead adventures at their feet and because I attacked them first, I broke my Oath? Just really stupid and frustrating.

I did not get my oath broken in this fight. I also started a fight with the goblin who tied up the deep gnome AFTER letting the goblin go.

Took out the whole area, no oathbreak. Oath of Ancients.

Some neutrals you can murder, some not. It's a mess.

Restrictions from the Oath need to be extended to the party as well. Supporting is participating. There is no room for hypocrisy with the Paladin class. The oath won't mean anything if you get to circumvent it by letting your friends do the dirty work for you.
